Final

what will the future bring?

Ideally my plans for the next 5 years are to finish up my associates degree at CCV.  I’m then going to start applying to schools in  Spring 11′ for my undergrad degree. I would love to go back home to NYC. I’m hoping to get into Hunter college. I have wanted to go there for quite a while. They have a great early education program which is my major, and minor in Nutrition. I am doing my internship at porters Point school in September, which will be a good experience for me, and give me a better perspective on working in the field of early ed. In November I am going back to Italy to visit the University of Compobasso. I would like to study abroad there for a semester. My relatives live close by and I think that would be an experience of a life time and something i would really enjoy. I would Like to become a kindergarten teacher. It is so much fun working with young children. Its amazing to me to watch a child grow and develop, and feel as if you have made a contribution towards it. To have them feel comfortable with their teacher and build and maintain a  healthy relationship is key to long term growth.

really? Make a new Website

http://espn.go.com/

When i watch a game on tv or miss one, I want to be able to catch up on scores/ updates etc. i want to go to a web site that has it all. The ESPN web site it so disorganised. I feel as if to try and search for one specific game or line up, my eyes wonder to every which way because it is so cluttered. It needs to have more structure to it. The colors are bland and there is way to much going on. Every empty space is filled with advertisments about things having nothing to do with sports at all. it’s confusing and frustrating, I want to be able to get on and gather the information I need easily and without hassles.

Capturing a moment.

Photography is one of my greatest passions. I thoroughly enjoy capturing any and every moment through a photograph. My grandfather was one of the best photographers I knew. He owned a photography business, called precious moments, for years before he past away. I admire the way he loved and felt about photography. He had such an amazing way about him. He was  able to capture the emotion in every picture, as if you were in that exact moment. My grandfather was huge on family. There are so many great photos taken by him, of my mother from when she was a child, that I have framed and hung still to this day. They remind me of who is was, and how he was able to capture the spirit and joy in a Child’s eyes. Photography was his passion. He used to always say that looking back at a photgraph you’ve taken is like looking  into your soul through the eyes of the beholder. You have created that exact moment, image and life through a photo. Black and white photography was what he was best at.  There is so much you can do with a photo. With all the new and coming technology there are so many different ways to crop, tone, or alter a photo. Photography will always be a part of me and follow with me through my life.

Social Media: It’s the new “It”

Nearly 70% of households in the US have a broadband internet connection, allowing people to use the Internet in increasingly more engaging and richer ways. During the last few years, the Internet has become more and more driven by such content and sites that provide opportunity to grow. Most of these sites have gained worldwide audience through the broad appeal of interacting with the web in a way that allows the user to determine what they want to view.

Social media can be divided into two categories: professional and personal.  It Appeals to a  professional audience, providing users a place for networking and would be a good place for an organization to be involved in. Facebook is more casual website, and provides a place for people to interact with friends and groups of people by sharing what they are doing, photos and videos and any other information they care to post online. Social Media, to me, has taken away the phone call to family after dinner; the hand written letter or card to a family member or friend and the intimate more personal connection between people. Instead of calling someone to see what they are doing, some already know from their update on Facebook or Twitter. The deep connection that had been made between a hand written letter and phone call is now replaced with an email or a tweet.

At first I was against joining these social networks because I am private person and didn’t want the world knowing my every move. But then I found family and friends that I had lost touch with years ago and reunited with them. A con for these social networks are people knowing your every move before you even do it, so you need to be careful what you post and what you want to share with everyone because some events in my life are too personal to share with everyone. Overall, I feel that social media has brought many more pros then cons in my life; its innovated, engaging and creative.
